25 Things to do in your business and for yourself during the shutdown
- A thorough inventory. Count everything. Adjust your inventory management system (implement an inventory management system).
- Create your order for when you re-open and submit it to Cool Beauty. Place a future ship date (that can be adjusted if needed). You won’t be charged until it ships, and you’ll have a major re-opening task complete.
- Reach out to your teammates. Personal texts instead of group. Check in. Send love.
- Turn off Netflix – it isn’t growing your business.
- Turn Netflix back on – sometimes it’s okay to give yourself permission to unwind.
- Clean up your customer database. You know those clients that accidently have duplicate accounts, email addresses that are obviously incorrect, inconsistencies in date entry, etc. Tedious work, but you’ll love working in the cleanliness when the salon is back and booming!
- De-clutter. THROW IT AWAY! If you don’t need it, get rid of it.
- Clean Everything. Including your email inbox.
- Run ranking reports on all products you sell. Keep tight inventory on bottom items – stock big on top items! You will want to take advantage of every profit (sales) opportunity when you re-open.
- Put down the snacks. You aren’t hungry. You are bored.
- Eat a treat – it’s ok.
- Go through some old photos – spend mental time on happy memories!
- And if you find any from when you were a younger hairdresser, in cosmetology school, when you salon first opened, etc – share them on social media with your clients. They will love it, and it’ll be great for engagement.
